From the Citizen-times.com story by Leslie Boyd:
- Presbytery of Western North Carolina dismissed Montreat Presbyterian Church from the Presbyterian USA denomination Tuesday.
- The 350-member church will not be allowed to keep its name.
- The property it holds was not part of the decision.
- The governing body also voted to create a “continuing church,” made up of the 27 (8%) members who wanted to stay in the denomination. That continuing church will keep the name.
