Presbyterian membership loss worst in decades

Louisville - Courier Journal story The denomination lost 57,572 members in 2007 and now has 2,209,546 members, a drop of 2.5 percent over 2006.

  2. What percentage of those 57,572 members is made up of congregations delivered over to the EPC by their pastors?

    Our Session is dragging the Pastor towards EPC. Several others, stayed with PCUSA, when the congregation left.

  4. Fact is; since the denomination is ignoring the existance of the votes of those churches who took their pastors and left, the number is grossly under represented.

    My best guess is closer to 65,000 or 70,000 once you add the congregations who are captive to Christ.

  5. I will try to pull the 2007 stats from PCUSA and give them a going over. I have the stats in a giant CSV file that any spreadsheet program can use. If you don't have an office suite, try the free one that I use Open Office.
